Questions and Answers
Which film had the maximum number of British actors ever to be cast in a single movie in the history of Bollywood ?
The answer is of course Lagaan. Lots of you got it right, with some people saying Gandhi, which I think is a good guess. There are several interesting facts about this film. The first cut of the film was an astounding 7 hours and 30 minutes long. The movie was shot in villages of Bhuj (Gujarat). Bhuj was destroyed in an earthquake on 26th January 2001, six months after the movie was shot. Two of the British actors Jamie and Katkin were dating while they were filming 'Lagaan' and were eventually married off on the sets of the film which had a make shift temple in it. As it was done according hindu religion, Aamir and Reena performed the Kanyadaan ritual. Aamir Khan got his ears pierced so that he could actually wear earrings. You would be shocked to know that Gerard Butler had also auditioned for the role of Captain Andrew Russel.
What is the connect between these people apart from the fact that they have been CMs?
In an article I read that there are 34 families which predominantly control India. It sounds like the olden times to me where Kings controlled the lands. May be the setup is changed but the families rule concept hasn’t. A Quote that I read of Plato this week, also shared with you on Twitter has jolted me - “One of the penalties of refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” So the Question is can we really complain!

Sumo wrestling was born as a Shinto ritual to entertain gods. It was believed that if the gods are not pleased, they would not bring a good harvest season. The sumo wrestlers usually eat a high-calorie dish called chanko nabe which is beef stew and vegetables hot pot. Young sumo wrestlers consume around 20,000 calories of food a day. That is why they can get fat so easily and quickly. There are no official female sumo wrestlers and women are not allowed to enter the sumo ring. In the past it was believed that if a woman entered the ring, the ring must be purified again. Sumo wrestlers are prohibited from driving a car because of a car accident that injured a sumo wrestler years ago.
